According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgian Dream, China is currently the only peaceful superpower, and therefore Georgia shares common values with it.
Kobakhidze says this is why deepening cooperation with China is especially valuable.
He made this statement in an interview with TRT WORLD.
“We are doing everything to expand our cooperation with many different countries around the world. This is our vision, and we are glad that we have a strategic partnership with China; we have signed a free trade agreement and have a visa-free regime with China, which helps us develop our connectivity function, strengthen our economy, and reinforce our political positions. This is extremely valuable for us. Therefore, deepened cooperation with China is very important for us.
Regarding Iran, we do not have any particular intensification of relations, but it is our neighbor. We maintain relations with Iran, and this is the current situation. The same applies to other countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and all our other neighboring states, which hold the same position and also try to develop partnerships with different countries around the world.
Once again, China plays a very special role. It must be said that China is currently the only peaceful superpower in global politics. That is precisely why we have common values; we share common values. And that is why deepening cooperation with China is especially valuable for us,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
