The special edition of Batumelebi newspaper, “Mzia Amaglobeli – Accused in Truth”, has won the Silver Award in the Publication Design category at the Epica Awards.
“Mzia Amaglobeli – Accused in Truth” is a special issue that compiles the most important topics that Mzia Amaglobeli and the publication she founded have covered over the past 24 years.
The edition features only the headlines of articles published by Batumelebi over the years, without including the full text.
The design of the issue was created by the advertising agency Supermarket, with the following team:
- Creative Director: Eka Qipiani
- Senior Art Director: Aleksandre Tsitskishvili
- Art Directors: Ani Rostomashvili, Biko Varshanidze
- Strategists: Giorgi Tabatadze, Vasil Chubinidze
- Copywriter: Giorgi Abuladze
At the Epica Awards, a Silver Award signifies that the work achieved the second-highest score in its category, earning high recognition from the jury. Unlike many other competitions, the Epica jury is composed entirely of journalists, rather than creative directors. Members of the jury are editors and journalists from marketing and technology publications.
The award system is as follows:
- Grand Prix: Best of the best
- Gold: Category winner
- Silver: Second-highest scoring work
- Bronze: Third place
In some categories, no Gold is awarded if the jury determines that no submission meets the standard of excellence, which makes Silver even more prestigious. Notably, in the Publication Design category this year, no Gold award was given.
Another work by Supermarket, Iveria – Independence Issue, won Bronze in the same category.
