A new judge has joined the Administrative Affairs Chamber of the Tbilisi City Court 35-year-old Davit Makaradze. He is now reviewing most of the cases of individuals detained during the recent pro-European protest actions over the past two days.
Today, 21 November, Makaradze is scheduled to hear the cases of Nino Gudashvili, Ketevan Khuskivadze, Nino Bardzimishvili, Vaso Beridze, Gia Jvarsheishvili, Elene Berikashvili, Giorgi Zhimerashvili, and Rezi Dumbadze. He has already sentenced Khalibeg Magomedov to five days of administrative detention.
Davit Makaradze was transferred to the Tbilisi City Court on temporary assignment just a few days ago. Prior to that, he served for four years as a judge in the Criminal Cases Chamber of the Gori District Court. Before becoming a judge, Makaradze worked as an attorney. Earlier, from 2012 to 2017, he was an investigator in the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance a position he began at the age of 22.
As for his education, Makaradze earned his law degree at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, where he later completed his master’s studies. According to the biography published on the High Council of Justice website, he has completed effective communication courses at the Ministry of Finance Academy, as well as preparatory training for trainees of the Investigative Service.
